For Impressive Travel: Visiting the Wonderful and Sacred Site of Deer Valley Rock Art Center Phoenix

The Deer Valley Rock Art Center, Phoenix, is an archeological research and education center which is a part of Arizona State University from 1984. The historically significant place is also home to the well enriched libraries and archives of American Rock Art Research Association. This huge project was planned, designed and finally constructed by the US Army Corps of Engineers, with chief architect Will Bruder.

The park has got a three tier mission, primary being the protection of the Hedgpeth Hills Petroglyph Site. The two of their other mission statement includes an establishment of connection of the site with people and interpret the excavated cultural statements found here. The dedicated staffs here ensure through their untiring efforts the integrity of these mission statements.

The park is home to many great research activities by the archeologists or scholars. In the year 2003 the Bureau of Land Management and this park entered into an agreement to initiate the process of rock art documentations. These findings were further scientifically analyzed for the scope of new findings. The park also has partnership with different communities to widen its operational horizon. The students can now do their internship from outside their classroom and campus.

There are many exciting events lined up which include presentations and lectures by many eminent professors and personalities. Some of these are the Desert Bird Tours, Ancient Landscapes, and American Indian Heritage festivals. There are simulated archaeology workshops, kid's story telling programs and cultural programs. The park is open from October through April from 9 am to 5 pm (Tuesday to Saturday) and 12 pm to 5 pm on Sunday. May through September the park is open from 8 am to 2 pm (Tuesday through Sunday).
