
Phoenix Art Museum
The Phoenix Art Museum is the primary art institution in the Southwest. Its history goes back to 1912 when the Arizona committee developed a fine arts program and their collections started coming in as early as 1915.
The former name for "PAM" was the Phoenix Art Center. It was only in 1959 when it had its recent location, the Midtown Phoenix and from then on, the museum just expanded and became a tourist attraction for Phoenix travel to visit the warm yet delightful Phoenix, Arizona.
If you want to travel Phoenix to visit the Phoenix Art Museum, the general admission fee is $10 for adults and 20% discounts for senior citizens as well as students with ID. Children between the age of 6 to 17 are only charged $4 per admission but they offer free admission to everyone every Tuesdays 3 to 9 in the evening and First Fridays at 6 to 10 in the evening.
The collections here came from all parts of the globe and from different ages. American, Asian, Latin American, European, Modern and Contemporary arts are just some of the collections here. Fashion design section is where you'll find thousands of garments and accessories that were either donated or purchased by the Arizona Costume Institute.
You'll find several garments designed by famous modern designers, both European and American. Photography is the modern day's new form of art that is also found here at the Phoenix Art Museum. Photography exhibits are being held regularly so more people can take a glimpse at the masterpieces of world-renowned photographers.
Not only do they house a wide array of collections but they also offer several exhibitions here as well. Make sure you check out their boards and be aware of what exhibitions are currently presented at PAM. You can meet fellow art lovers during these exhibitions and you'll never know who you might bump into.
No Festival Required in collaboration with PAM presents films that you can watch every Sunday at absolutely no cost to you. No Festival Required is known as the only Art-House Cinema Series in Phoenix and they showcase short films that is also related to the current collections in the museum. Also, after the screening, a discussion would follow so viewers could ask questions and learn more from the movie through the discussions from the experts.
