Phoenix Art Museum Admission, Hours and Visiting Information

Open in 1959, Phoenix Art Museum is the largest venue for world-class visual arts with galleries in the Southwest. It houses the permanent collection of more than 17,000 objects including the standard smattering of early American, European, Asian, Latin American and other artworks.

As a favorite spot in Phoenix, Phoenix Art Museum is a great way to spend some time learning the history of the tribes of the southwestern plains. You could be lost in rapture for hours within its walls. Visitors will be treated to amazing exhibitions, live performances, three specialized galleries, the landscaped Sculpture Garden, independent art films, educational programs and more.

Located at Central Avenue and McDowell Road, the museum can be found on the historic Central Avenue Corridor. The physical address is McDowell Road & Central Avenue 1625 N. Central Avenue Phoenix, AZ 85004. For visitors who plan to drive to the location, the following directions are offered to make your trip a breeze.

1) From North Valley via I-17

If you come from North Valley via I-17, exit at McDowell Road. Make a left at the off ramp light. Follow the McDowell Road to Central Avenue. Drive on until you pass through the light at Central Avenue. Then take a left 0.1 of a mile onto Alvarado Street. The museum can be found on your left side.

2) From South Valley via I-17

For visitors departing from South Valley via I-17, take McDowell Road exit. Turn right at the off ramp light to McDowell Road. Travel along the McDowell Road to Central Avenue. Then follow the above mentioned directions.

3) From East Valley via I-10

If driving from East Valley via I-10, you are suggested to exit at 7th Street and merge right onto 7th Street. At the first light, turn left onto McDowell Road. Then follow the McDowell Road to 3rd Street. Continue across the light at 3rd Street and make a right 0.2 of a mile onto Alvarado Street. The museum will be on your left hand side.

4) From West Valley via I-10

For visitors coming from West Valley via I-10, take 7th Avenue exit. At the off ramp, turn left onto 7th Avenue. Then make a right turn at the first light onto McDowell Road. Drive along the McDowell Road until it becomes Central Avenue. Follow the Central Avenue to pass the light and turn left 0.1 of a mile onto Alvarado Street. You will find the museum on your left side.

If you want to make sure your visit is perfect in every way, also keep abreast of hours info of the art museum. The Phoenix Art Museum is open from 5 days a week (closing on Monday and Tuesday). The hours of operation are from 10am to 9pm on Wednesday, from 10am to 5pm on Thursday through Saturday and from 12am to 5pm on Sunday.

On first Fridays per month and each Wednesdays, the museum is open in the evening for voluntary donation. The hours are from 6pm to 10pm on Fridays and from 3pm to 9pm on Wednesdays. During museum holidays (January 17 & February 21), the museum are open from 10am to 5pm.

For visitors who are planning on a visit to the attraction, there is an admission to the museum. The general admission is $10 for adults, $4 for children (aged 6-17) and $8 for senior citizens. Full-time college / university students are also charged $8 with valid student w / ID. Children under 6 and museum members are free of charge. For ticketed and special admission exhibits, there may be exclusive policies and charges.

Showing a current membership card, you will receive a discount on dining at this restaurant. The operating hours are from 10am to 8:30pm on Wednesday and from 10am to 4pm from Thursday to Sunday.
